Our district Hamburg-Mitte (Central Hamburg) is what represents Hamburg. With the districts of Billbrook, Billstedt, Borgfelde, Finkenwerder, HafenCity, Hamburg-Altstadt, Hamm, Hammerbrook, Horn, Kleiner Grasbrook, Neustadt, Rothenburgsort, St. Georg, St. Pauli, Steinwerder, Veddel, Waltershof, Wilhemsburg up to the Island of Neuwerk, this is where the heart of the Hanseatic city beats.
With its nearly 280,000 inhabitants and multitude of quarters and districts, our district Hamburg-Mitte is worthwhile working hard for. With your cooperation, I would like to make it even more attractive and livable.

Our specific objectives are

- counteracting the social division of the districts with determination

- ensuring civil society dialogue

- protecting affordable living space also in the inner-city area and creating new one

- developing a traffic model for the 21th century

- making the coexistence of the young and the young at heart in districts a central theme.

- having a youth welfare policy that lives up to children and young people

Policy must have a sound grasp of contemporary developments. Those not perceiving or ignoring the challenges of our time will compromise the achievements and the progress made which have been fought for tediously. This is why I often wonder: How can our society keep its social core while undergoing changes?

In my capacity as environmental and transport policy spokesperson of the SPD parliamentary group in the District Assembly of Hamburg-Mitte, as youth welfare policy spokesperson and as spokesperson in the Regional Committee of Horn-Hamm-Borgfelde, I am trying to find some answers together with many other social democrats.
